St. Pete man charged with DUI and vehicular homicide

A St. Petersburg man has been arrested on drunken driving and vehicular homicide charges in connection with the February death of a Clearwater woman, records show.

Ramon Bustamonte, 30, of 2550 30th Ave. N was picked up at his home on a felony warrant just after midnight on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol/manslaughter and vehicular homicide.

The charges are related to a Feb. 17 collision in which Bustamonte struck the passenger side door of a Ford pickup truck that was driven by Valeria Cataruzza, 33, court records show. The victim, backing out of a driveway on the 3700 block of 38th Avenue N, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

At the time, Bustamonte was not immediately arrested.
