Four-car accident leaves one dead
TAMPA — A 61-year-old Tennessee woman died in a four-car pileup on Causeway Boulevard on Thursday night, and her husband, the driver, was left with serious injuries, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Thomas W. Glenn, 64, of Franklin, Tenn., and his wife, Marrian F. Glenn, were traveling north on Faulkenberg Road approaching Causeway Boulevard in a 2007 four-door Mercury when they were struck on the right side by a 2007 Toyota Tacoma traveling west on Causeway Boulevard. The Tacoma’s driver, Eric Samuel Hornsby, 31, of Gibsonton, was not injured, the FHP report said.
A third vehicle, a 2003 Ford F-150 driven by Demetrius Lynn Crawford, 45, of St. Petersburg, was stopped southbound on Faulkenberg Road in the inside left turn lane. The Glenns’ car struck the left front of the truck and forced it into the outside left turn lane, where the truck hit a 2005 Ford F-150 driven by 27-year-old Daniel Greenburg of Riverview, the report said.
Crawford and Greenberg were not injured. Crawford’s passenger, 48-year-old Hector De Jesus of St. Petersburg, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Tampa General Hospital. Glenn was also taken to Tampa General. Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt, the report said.
No charges have been filed, and an investigation is ongoing.
TGH representatives described Thomas Glenn’s condition as fair this morning.
