Today’s weather: sunny, but cooler for the new year

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

The last day of 2008 will be a nice one, meteorologists say, with sunny skies and cooler temperatures later tonight.

There’s a cold front coming through today that probably won’t be noticeable, said Bay News 9 meteorologist Josh Linker. Fog today shouldn’t cause any significant problems.

As for tonight’s festivities, it’s expected to be in the low 50s outside. But before you bemoan the slight chill, Linker said, you should know that New York City is expected to be at about 12 degrees.

This weekend will warm up, with a chance for a few showers.
