Fort DeSoto Park is on a spit of land in the mouth of Tampa Bay. Its beaches are frequently ranked among the best in the nation, and even the world, by various travel and tourism rating services. For Zent, whose extended family gathered for the holiday at the park, it was a favorite way to spend the day. Indeed, it was the Zents second year for a Fort DeSoto Thanksgiving.
