Naples Sunset

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Naples, Florida, has some beautiful beaches, but this Saturday it was the sunset that caught my attention. The sea teems with life. I saw thick schools of tiny fish, and a pod of porpoises. The fishing pier is a good viewpoint, even if you are not fishing.

Voluptuous Pole-dancer’s Daddy is Radical Cleric

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I am not laughing. This is a very sad matter that a daughter should be estranged from her father. Yasmin Fostok is a daughter of cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed. While her father wants women covered head to toe, she (shown on the left) is entertaining by dancing while scantily clad. This is truly a clash of cultures. Click on her thumbnail image to see the photo and read the entire 27th September 2008 article by Michael Seamark and Emily Andrews. Here is a quote:

Bakri, who said the British people brought the 7/7 outrages on themselves and praised the ‘ magnificent’ September 11 hijackers, raised his six children on benefits totalling £300,000, and his daughter is following suit.

Arson detectives investigating apartment fire

Monday, September 29th, 2008

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – Residents of the Penny Plaza apartment complex kept a mid-morning blaze there under control until firefighters could arrive.

But now arson detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the fire as suspicious.

The 18-unit complex made news last month after residents learned the building was in danger of foreclosure.

A neighbor called 911 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday to report the fire at 2207 Bay Boulevard, # 203.

According to the sheriff’s office, a man was sleeping in his living room when he awoke to the smell of smoke. The man, who deputies did not identify, grabbed his dog and left the apartment before returning with a fire extinguisher.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is trying to contain a three-alram fire on a conveyor belt at the Kinder Morgan building at the Port of Tampa.

Twenty fire trucks, several fire rescue boats, a helicopter and more than 45 fire fighters are currently at the blaze at 4310 Pendola Point, said Capt. Ray Yeakley, a spokesman for fire rescue.

Kinder Morgan, a dry and liquid bulk handling company, works with a lot of hazardous materials, Yeakley said, so emergency responders have sealed off the scene until they can determine what is burning.
